Fresh Produce Now at Fairview
J.D. Peak
Starting Oct. 5, the Moore Public Schools Child Nutrition Department will implement a USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program at Fairview Elementary School.

The goal of the program is to introduce new foods and healthier choices to elementary-age children. The FFVP also aims to provide children with nutrition education to promote a healthier lifestyle.

This federally assisted grant program provides children in participating elementary schools with a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables during the school day.

Students at each site will receive fresh fruits and vegetables twice a week in the afternoon, after lunch hours. Student leaders and school staff will volunteer and distribute the produce.
This is a completely free program for students. It's a wonderful opportunity for kids to try new and different fruits and vegetables that they may have never been exposed to.
